Annual Dinner / Volunteer and Community Recognition Event

Green Pond Country Club, Bethlehem, was the festive scene on Thursday, November 15, 2007 for VIABL Services’ Annual Dinner and Volunteer and Community Awards event. Donors, community sponsors, volunteers, clients and staff celebrated the agency’s success of the past year.

Sheila Drummond, who this summer became the first blind woman golfer to make a hole-in-one, was honored with the Helen Keller Award for Independence. She also received a citation from the Pennsylvania Senate supported by State Senators Lisa Boscola, Pat Browne and Robert Wonderling.

Our new pin was designed by Liztech, a jewelry company in East Stroudsburg, PA. The creative artists of this company specialize in designs using reflective materials to create unique pieces that “make a statement.”

Called Insightful, our pin depicts the eye, the world, the colors of the visible light spectrum and the heart needed to help blind and visually impaired individuals achieve their goal of independence.

Each pin sells for $50 and 100% of all sales go to support agency services. Highmark Blue Shield Walk for a Healthy Community

Calling all walkers–we need you to step out in style for the fifth annual “Walk for a Healthy Community presented by Highmark Blue Shield” which benefits 16 local nonprofit organizations including VIABL Services. Our agency participates in the walk because it gives us the opportunity to raise funds to support our programs. Since Highmark Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the walk, 100% of the money raised by walkers goes directly to the organization you choose to support. How great is that!
